Organizing Your Craft Supplies - Five Tips

Organizing craft supplies can be fun or overwhelming…or both! For me organizing is fun, but that’s just me. I know, I’m a freak about organizing.  I know that people are annoyed that I like to organize.  I hate exercising.  I should exercise and I do a little to keep from being ginormous but MAN people who like it? Annoying. How can anyone like being out of breath and sweaty? My Mom and Gram are organizing freaks too.  They taught me or passed along the “love of organizing” gene.

This leads me to tip #1: Read more....

Fourth of July card Making Ideas

Here are my great Fourth of July card making ideas!  I was so excited to make the little TNT sticks, I used my Mustache Kitty and Kitty’s Fishy Gift digital stamps for two of the cards.  I knew I wouldn’t have time to mail out the cards to my Gram for the Independence Day holiday so I decided to make the cards and use them as party decorations.  Since the party is tomorrow I stages the scenes! One of the more complicated cards was the TNT card. Read more...

Card Making For Beginners

The card making world can be overwhelming!  I know it’s overwhelming because when I started I was lost.  The funny thing is I knew I had to learn card making specifically. Why?  After some research, reflection, meditation (not really) and soul searching I came to the conclusion that card making was the next step for me.  I’ve been a fine artist for years but working for galleries was reclusive and lonely.  I needed something interactive and I love helping people.  Card making was the next logical step for me.  Yay!  After some research and web surfing on card making I discovered it’s not as easy as I thought. The challenges were finding the sites that would inspire and help with creativity. Read more....

Above are some examples of the “Spotted Owl” free digital stamps used different ways for card making. I love designing these free digital stamps!  This “Spotted Owl” digi is an extra bonus for you!  I’ve decided to add this cute owl as a permanent freebie to the site. As you know, if you follow Card Making Artists, we offer a free “Kitty” stamp from the kitty digital stamp series. This owl digi is something different and great for all kinds of card designs. I used watercolor pencils, pastel pencils, pens and glitter on these digital stamps.  I love how easy the images are to cut out and arrange on cards. Whether you cut the owls entirely out or use the PDF formatted version of the digital stamp they are fun to play around with. Postcard Template Ideas

Stampin' Up! Card making supplies.
Postcard template handmade card idea. What a beautiful card!  I made this card at my monthly Stamp Camp with Donna Taylor.  The postcard template above is Stampin’ Up’s postcard template stamp.  I love the idea!  A long time ago I used to be part of a group that swapped postcards, ATC’s and random art projects.  The postcards were my favorite swap.  Clever idea to use the postcard as an actual card.  I love the pink and gray colors on this card and the ribbon is so elegant.
I can imagine a lot of amazing cards using the Stampin’ Up! postcard template. Read for more postcard ideas!
